Personalized Yoga & Meditation Practice

with Charlotte

True-Journey is collaborating with Charlotte!

I’m Ute, and I feel truly happy and deeply grateful to welcome someone so special on board. Charlotte offers individually tailored Yoga and Meditation sessions — gently supporting you before and after your deep work with the Master Plants during our retreats.

In Charlotte´s words:

It is a strong encouragement to introduce some form of contemplative practice to your day-to-day routine, if you do not already have one, in order to develop your capacity for embodied presence. In other words, to learn to, or develop the habit of, coming to stillness within your busy days, stepping back from ‘doing’ and practicing ‘just’ noticing what is present, including sensations in your body, feelings or patterns of thought, for example.

I know this is not always easy if you are experiencing stress in your life, which can create an inner restlessness that makes it hard to be still. It takes courage, time, compassion with oneself and community to walk this path.

A capacity to ‘be with what is arising’ without judgment of ourselves or pushing it away because we need to be doing other things is a hugely valuable toolkit for a number of reasons.

In the lead up to your retreat, it can start to show you what may be present within your body-mind that is asking for clarity, release or a resolution of some kind through your work with the plants, and therefore may help shape your intention/s for your ceremonies.

It can also help to strengthen your capacity to be present during ceremony, when the medicine is active, and observe what is being communicated to you.

Moreover, if ever things become a bit challenging, the breath and mindfulness tools offered can help you regulate your nervous system in order to to stay with difficult emotions, equipping you to be steady and grounded whatever may be unfolding.

After your retreat, this capacity for presence, turning inwards and curiously observing and feeling, can be a wonderful tool for recalling and integrating the gifts and insights of the plants. It creates space for reflection, organisation and assimilation of these insights into your body-mind experience and day-to-day life, in order to support lasting personal and habitual changes. Changes like developing a new habit of pausing before knee-jerk reacting when triggered, allowing for more considered responses, new choices and different outcomes.

Overall, this kind of practice could take you to places deeper within that perhaps you’ve not been to before, or that you’ve resisted going to because it feels uncomfortable. Going into these places and bringing into the light of consciousness what you find there is a powerful way to become aware of and release old patterns of behaviour and ways of thinking about yourself and the world that have perhaps been at the root of much self-sabotage and pain.

INTEGRATION SUPPORT OPTIONS

Often, there may be a ‘new sense of normal’ that we need to adjust to when we go back to our everyday lives. ‘Psychedelic’ medicines like ayahuasca dissolve, for a period of time, the rigid neural pathways of our conditioned mind, opening up a window of possibility for 'neuroplasticity’ (the capacity of our brains to change and grow in response to our environment). Within this time period, we have the opportunity to lay down new pathways relating to how we think, feel and behave in the world, with ourselves and others. Such an experience comes with a degree of instability in our nervous system, which is being challenged to unlearn old patterns that it developed help us survive the woundings of our past.

Being able to self-regulate our nervous system - stimulate the parasympathetic or ‘ rest and digest’ arm of our nervous system - using tools that are within us and available to us at all times, provides an anchor, a way to feel bodily safe and mentally calmer, while navigating the seas of change. And this is a toolkit that can be by our side for life.

If you would like more focused and longer term support for your integration process, there are a couple of different ways that we could work together. Both could be stand-alone supports, or could sit alongside psychotherapeutic support, which has worked well for many previous clients.

Here are 2 Options:

OPTION 1:

TRAUMA CENTER, TRAUMA SENSITIVE YOGA (TCTSY) BODY-BASED THERAPEUTIC SESSIONS - book them as you need them

TCTSY is a therapeutic/clinical treatment for complex (inter-relational) trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), both of which profoundly change our relationship with our body.

I am certified to deliver this treatment in clinical supervision.

I recommend exploring TCTSY in the first instance if you have a diagnosis you are seeking to address or if your symptoms have become life-limiting.

TCTSY is always delivered live, like a therapy session, and can be delivered one-to-one or to small groups, for example, if people who’ve been on retreat together would like to accompany each other through integration too.

Sessions are delivered online via Zoom.

OPTION 2:

a bespoke, one-to-one EMBODIED self-PRACTICE, created to reflect your individual process with the plants

There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to our body-minds and this kind of work with plants. We all receive different gifts, or as Ute likes to say, each of us receives our own insight into the totality and our part in it, as well as developing a unique connection to the plants and their ‘life-supportive energies.’

So, I design a completely bespoke practice for you, developed in collaboration with you, weaving in certain experiences, insights, energies or intentions for integration, such that you are able to embed everything at the somatic level.

Once you have your practice, you can then do it at home as regularly as you want to. The key to integrating something new in your life, however, whether an insight from the medicine or a new self-practice habit, is repetition, so I recommend endeavouring to commit to practicing every day, certainly for an initial period of 40 days.

Why 40 days? It leverages a neurophysiological phenomenon known in neuroscience as the ‘kindling effect,’ in which repeated positive actions can strengthen the neural pathways associated with those behaviours, making them more automatic and easier to maintain.

This is not a therapeutic/clinical treatment; however, your recorded practice can be adapted to be trauma sensitive as needed.

This program can be delivered completely online.
