Food & Shipibo Ayahuasca Diet
Different food options will be made available, such as vegan, vegetarian, chicken, or fish. Options can also be made available to cater to various food allergies. Of course, all food provided respects Shipibo Plant Dieta requirements and therefore is always diet-friendly. Generally, it is not recommended to eat large amounts.
During the Sama fasting times 24h fasting times are required around the ceremony nights. Additionally, to go deeper, it is recommended sometimes to fast and only drink water.
This will be individually discussed depending on your process and the required energy work that is happening.
For more information about the Pre- and Post-Diet Diet, click here.
Accommodation Before/After:
I highly recommend arriving at least two days prior to the retreat start date, so you can adjust to the altitude before working with the medicine. If you'd like to do a hike to the upper lagoons or visit ruins/archeological sides, arrive earlier!
The area is so stunning. I highly recommend taking advantage of this trip and spending some Preparation and Integration time in the area.
Guests traveling by air will arrive at the Cusco airport. Cusco is situated 3,400 meters above sea level. The altitude in the Valley is lower at about 2800-2900 meters. This is why I recommend driving into the Valley from the airport and organizing accommodation for the first few nights. There are many hotels that can be found between Pisac and Ollantaytambo.
Not Included:
-
Flights
-
Airport transportation to and from the retreat venue
-
Extra massages with the Maestra
-
Vapor baths can be booked additionally during our stay
-
Health Insurance: I recommend booking travel health insurance, including flight cancellation insurance.
-
Travel insurance: I recommend cancellation insurance for your own safety for your flights etc..
-
Travel and flight advice & support
-
Hotel/ Accommodation before & after the retreat
-
Shipibo Art/Craft: There will be handmade art products displayed for guests to buy that have been made by the Shipibo Maestra’s family
-
Additional coaching sessions for preparation and/or integration (contact me for prices/schedule)
-
In case of emergency: doctor/ hospital/ transport fees

I started recently learning with a Shaman from an old Andean Tradition, maybe if we are lucky and all flows well, he will offer a ceremony for us to align and connect with the Mountain energies. This is still in the air and will remain open. The chances are high that he will be with us for a daytime ceremony. I will keep you informed.

The Alchemy of the Sacred Valley
This retreat brings together the Shipibo plant medicine tradition and the living energy of the Peruvian Andes — two distinct healing forces, working in dialogue.
Maestra Juana Silvano Teco brings her jungle lineage into the mountains. The APUs — the sacred mountain beings of the Andean world — become part of the ceremony. She weaves their energy into her Ikaros and healing work.
The Sacred Valley has been Ute's home since 2020. The ancient sites, the clear high-altitude air, and the particular quality of stillness in the mountains make this a profound alternative to the jungle — not lesser, simply different.
The mountains invite a certain freedom. You can sit on the earth, feel the ground beneath you, and let the altitude and the open sky become part of your process.

Why the Sacred Valley?
Ancient Sites & Living Energy
The Sacred Valley holds thousands of years of ceremonial history. Archaeological sites, sacred mountains, and Andean spiritual tradition surround the retreat venue.
Comfort Without Compromise
Private rooms, private bathrooms, and beautiful mountain lodge grounds. Designed for those who want to work deeply without the additional challenge of jungle conditions.
No Mosquitoes or Jungle Wildlife
A common reason guests choose this setting. The mountain environment allows full focus on the inner work.
Preparation & Integration time
You can choose to receive additional in-person preparation and integration support with Ute or another collaborator.
The Same Shipibo Lineage
The medicine, the maestra, and the ceremonial container are the same. Location changes. Lineage does not.
A Destination Worth Staying For
Ruins, hikes, lagoons, local markets — the Sacred Valley rewards those who arrive early and linger after.
