The Alchemy of the Sacred Valley
This retreat brings together the Shipibo plant medicine tradition and the living energy of the Peruvian Andes — two distinct healing forces, working in dialogue.
Maestra Juana Silvano Teco brings her jungle lineage into the mountains. The APUs — the sacred mountain beings of the Andean world — become part of the ceremony. She weaves their energy into her Ikaros and healing work.
The Sacred Valley has been Ute's home since 2020. The ancient sites, the clear high-altitude air, and the particular quality of stillness in the mountains make this a profound alternative to the jungle — not lesser, simply different.
The mountains invite a certain freedom. You can sit on the earth, feel the ground beneath you, and let the altitude and the open sky become part of your process.
True-Journey works with 2 different Venues in the Sacred Valley.
One we call "Open Sky & Vast Ground", this is the bigger one.
The other is a smaller cozy place which we call our "Mountain Nest".
"Open Sky & Vast Ground" Retreat Venue
I feel deeply excited to share a new venue we’ve discovered here in the Sacred Valley for 2027 — the beauty of this place truly touched me.
For private groups, we can now offer a second mountain venue, nestled in the breathtaking Andes. I had been searching for a more expansive space — somewhere that feels open, alive, and held by nature. A place where river, forest, and mountains meet in natural harmony. And yes… we found it.
Surrounded by more than 3 hectares of land, this venue offers a sense of spaciousness that is rare for retreat venues, and it feels deeply nourishing. During your Master Plant Retreat, you can sit quietly in the fruit tree forest, rest by the river, connect with the many plants growing on the land, or wander through the different areas of this land. You might find yourself sitting on warm stones, lying in the grass, or simply taking in the wide, open views that stretch across the valley.
Both times I visited, there was a horse moving peacefully across the land — a quiet, grounding presence. The owner shared that the horse will likely still be there next year… adding its own gentle spirit to the space.
Each room is designed with comfort and privacy in mind, offering its own bathroom. We also have a beautiful, spacious communal area where we gather at the beginning and end of the retreat — a place to land, to share, and to integrate. There is plenty of room for movement practices, yoga, and breathwork, as well as a ceremonial space that holds our deeper work.
What I love most about this place is the balance it offers: openness and grounding, space and intimacy. It allows each participant to find their own rhythm — to connect with the Plant Teachers, with themselves, and with the surrounding nature in a very personal way.
All of this is held under the watch of the Apus — the sacred mountains that surround and protect this valley, bringing their quiet strength and presence into every moment of the retreat.
The land lies at the edge of a small community near Urubamba — close enough to have everything we need, yet far enough to truly disconnect and go inward.
I feel genuinely grateful to be able to offer this beautiful family-owned property to our True Journey retreat participants. It carries a very special energy — one that I am looking forward to sharing with you.
"Our Mountain Nest" - Retreat Venue
This guesthouse is nestled within a small community near Urubamba in the Sacred Valley. It is a cozy and welcoming place, offering a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. A beautiful, lush garden with many different plants surrounds the space, and the maloka can host max. 10 participants.
The venue feels like a little sanctuary, with a charming inner courtyard that invites rest and connection. I feel deeply grateful for this little cozy nest.
When you enter, you drop into a very nice patio with different rooms around.
It has a very cozy relaxed vibe.
The property is family-owned. It was first owned by the grandmother. She had a small house and a garden. Then the daughter continued expanding the property, and after that, the next daughter gave it some thought, love, and energy to create a hostel. It was created and is now owned by all these women from this family.
They call themselves spiritual people and always liked the energy from chapels. You will see there is a little tower with a bell that reminds you of a chapel.
They’ve put much love and care into the property and in the garden.
The atmosphere is warm and cozy.
There are 8-9 rooms for our participants and some extra rooms for our staff.
Each room has a private bathroom.
We have a kitchen with a lovely cook and a dining hall to share meals together.
The ceremony building is nice, round, and clear. A nice building that offers us space at night for our Ayahuasca ceremonies.
During the day the ceremony building can be used for Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork, etc.
The buildings on the property are of Andean style. They are very lovely decorated and designed as you can see in the photos as well.
The garden lies in the center of the venue and the rooms and buildings are around the patio.
It is a small little world; perfect to go inwards.
Each room has its own charm where you can have your privacy and be alone if you don’t want to see or connect with anyone else.
The sacred mountains around us are our guardians, while we go into our own processes and are in ceremony.

Sacred Valley, Peru Weather & Climate
Evenings and rainy days can get quite cold. When the sun comes out at an altitude of almost 2000 meters above sea level, it can get very warm. It's important to take into consideration that it's very easy to get sunburned in a very short time.
The climate can also change quickly, creating a kaleidoscope of natural magic to marvel at. As the weather changes it introduces new energies that support and hold our processes throughout the retreat.
It continuously fascinates me how changes in weather impact our journeys depending on the essence of our process. Nature surpasses the boundaries of verbal language and communicates invitations to journey more or less inward through the energetic nature of the elements.
Arriving in the Sacred Valley
The nearest airport is Cusco Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ). From Cusco, the Sacred Valley is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes by taxi. We are located close to Urubamba.
We recommend arriving two to three days early to adjust to the altitude before the retreat begins. The area between Pisac and Ollantaytambo has many hotels. The Sacred Valley rewards those who take time to explore it — there are ancient ruins, hiking trails, and Andean communities throughout the valley.
