Horses are masters of co-regulation. Their sensitivity to the energetic and emotional state of whoever is with them makes them unusually effective mirrors for integration work — they respond in real time to what is happening within you, before your mind has a chance to interpret or explain it away.
True-Journey collaborates with Florence at Kawallu Sonqo Wasi — Horse Heart Home — in Peru's Sacred Valley, offering horse therapy sessions designed specifically to complement plant medicine work.
How It Works
Every session runs two hours.
The first hour is spent with Florence over cacao or tea — a conversation exploring what has been most alive for you since your ceremony, or what you are carrying into your upcoming retreat. Florence listens, observes, and begins to orient the session around what is present.
The second hour is with the horses. What happens in that time depends entirely on what is alive for you — you might sit in stillness in their presence, brush them, or work with boundary and somatic practices. Florence observes and gently names what she witnesses as the horses respond to you. Because horses mirror so precisely — not just body language but energetic presence — you can see your own patterns reflected back in real time, and watch them shift as you shift.
Every session is different. There is no fixed agenda beyond what the present moment calls for.
Why Horses for Integration?
Plant medicine often surfaces patterns, boundaries, and somatic material that words and cognitive reflection alone struggle to reach. Horses work at a different level.

Florence has done multiple plant dietas herself, with and without the horses. Her maestros have noted how happy her plants are when she works alongside them. For Ute, horse therapy is one of the most natural complements to the medicine work available in the Sacred Valley.

Florence began her healing path fifteen years ago following a near-death experience. As new doors opened, she studied with her First Nations Lakota family, trained in metaphysics and Pranic Energy Healing under Master Stephen Co, and traveled to study Buddhism, Non-Violent Communication, Inner Child, and boundary work. She has spent time in the jungle with her Shipibo maestros and in the mountains with her Q'ero Paqos.
Her work with plants, animals, and nature has been her most profound teacher — and the one she most loves to share.
Florence runs Kawallu Sonqo Wasi — a horse sanctuary, therapy space, and integration farmhouse in the Sacred Valley. Every horse in her care is a rescue, rehabilitated from illness or trauma. They have, as Florence describes it, found her and asked to do this work.
She brings humor, lightness, and non-judgment to every session — including the most challenging material.
